Paris, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Novak Djokovic captured his third Paris Masters title on Sunday with a straight-set victory over Milos Raonic in the final. Djokovic rolled to a 6-2, 6-3 triumph for his second straight Paris Masters crown and 20th Masters series title overall. He also won this tournament in 2009. The top-seeded Serb also reached 600 career match victories on Sunday, joining Lleyton Hewitt and David Ferrer as players to reach that milestone this year. He also ran his indoor winning streak to 27 straight matches, last falling on an indoor court two years ago at this event in the first round to Sam Querrey. Djokovic grabbed an early lead with a break of serve and saved three break points in the seventh game. Instead of what could have been 4-3, he took that momentum and reeled off five straight games to open a 6-2, 3-0 advantage. Raonic never recovered. He saved a pair of match points before Djokovic finally ended the contest after 83 minutes. I played the best match of the entire week today when it was most needed, said Djokovic, playing for the first time since his wife gave birth to their first child less than two weeks ago. I got a lot of returns back and just overall Im extremely happy with the performance. Djokovic claimed his sixth title of 2014 and the 47th of his career.
