(SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Clippers are back on familiar territory the next four games, starting with Mondays matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves at Staples Center. The Clippers are scheduled to entertain Orlando, New Orleans and Phoenix on the homestand and went 6-1 on a recent road trip from central Florida to Salt Lake City. Los Angeles posted its fourth straight win with Saturdays 112-96 triumph over the Utah Jazz, as Blake Griffin scored a team-high 28 points on 13-of-18 shooting and has amassed 58 points the previous two games. Griffin is the only player in the NBA currently posting an average of at least 22.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Griffin is 56 points from 7,000 for his career. Jamal Crawford scored 22 points off the bench and Chris Paul delivered 17 and 10 assists. Paul is third in the league with 9.6 assists per game. After the Jazz pulled within 98-86, 3-pointers by Crawford and J.J. Redick gave the Clippers some breathing room. Redick had 13 points for Los Angeles, which shot 56.3 percent and has scored 100 or more points in four straight and six of the last seven games. The Clippers have won 11 in a row against the Jazz since Utahs last victory in the series on Jan. 17, 2012. Whether we went 6-1 or 4-3, we would have been better when this trip was over. It was guaranteed, Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. I think defensively we grew the most. The Clippers outscored their opponents on the road trip by 12.1 points and are eighth in the NBA with 103.8 ppg. LA is 10-1 when scoring 100 or more points and 1-4 when failing to do so. Minnesota will close out a three-game western jaunt at Staples Center and dropped a 107-93 decision in Portland on Sunday. LaMarcus Aldridge had 26 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Trail Blazers. Shabazz Muhammad and Mo Williams scored 28 and 21 points, respectively, with the latter dishing out 11 assists. Thaddeus Young posted 14 points and rookie Andrew Wiggins had seven for the Timberwolves, losers in four of five and nine of the past 11 games. We played really hard, said Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders. Didnt always play smart. The Wolves were coming off a 120-119 win over the Lakers on Friday and fell to 2-6 on the road. After visiting the Clippers, Minnesota will play two straight and six of seven games at home. Minnesota is still without guards Kevin Martin (wrist surgery) and Ricky Rubio (ankle sprain), and center Nikola Pekovic (wrist/foot) is doubtful Monday. It would be nice for the Wolves to have Pekovic battle Griffin inside. The Clippers won all four meetings with the Wolves a season ago and are unbeaten in the last nine games in this series. The T-Wolves have lost four in a row at the Clippers and are 48-50 all-time against them. Griffin averaged 25.7 points and 10.0 rebounds in three games against Minnesota last season, while Paul posted 20.5 points and 11.0 assists in four contests. With Kevin Love now in Cleveland, the Wolves will have even more trouble against the Clips. Love averaged 24.5 points and 15.8 boards in four games against the Clippers in 2013-14. Algeria led 3-0 at halftime, but withstood a stronger South Korean second half performance to claim its first World Cup win since 1982 and move into second place in Group H with one match left to play. Harnessing all their big-game experience, the Germans delivered a performance of maturity and efficiency to hold off France 1-0 on Friday and become the first team to reach four straight semifinals in the sports marquee tournament. Defender Mats Hummels scored the winning goal in the 13th minute, outmuscling his marker at a free kick to glance a header in off the underside of the crossbar. Criticized for poor defending in earlier matches, Germany selected a more robust lineup and restricted a flat France team to only a handful of clear-cut opportunities in muggy conditions. "There was not much in it," France coach Didier Deschamps said. But, "we dont have the international experience Germany has." While Frances young players slumped to the ground and some shed tears after the final whistle, the Germans soberly saluted all corners of the Maracana Stadium. One job done, nothing more. And next up for Germany is a meeting with host nation Brazil, which beat Colombia 2-1 later Friday. It will be Germanys 13th appearance in the semifinals in 20 editions of the World Cup. "I guess were playing the kind of football which will give us a chance to win," said Hummels, who produced a couple of decisive blocks to snuff out two good chances for France striker Karim Benzema. "We defended well today . I think we deserve to carry on." France struggled to impose the kind of attacking game that made the team one of the most exciting in Brazil during the group stage, although Benzema -- the teams chief attacking threat -- squandered chances in both halves. Late in the first half, the Real Madrid striker seized on a rebound following Manuel Neuers save from Mathieu Valbuenas shot but his close-range effort was deflected wide by Hummels. Then, in stoppage time, he created space for himself about eight yards out at an angle, but a fierce shot was swatted away by Neuer. "We played like a team again," said Germany captain Philipp Lahm, who returned to right back in one of a string of tactically astute chhanges made by coach Joachim Loew.dddddddddddd "Overall it was a good performance from us." In Loews eight-year tenure, Germany has reached the last four in every major tournament it has played -- but remains without a title since winning the European Championships in 1996. While the German team seemed comfortable at this level, the occasion was perhaps too much for a young, revamped France team playing together at the World Cup for the first time. And it continued Germanys recent dominance over France at World Cups. The most notorious of those previous meetings was in the 1982 semifinals in Spain, when Germany won on penalties following a 3-3 draw in a match marked by a late and high tackle by Germany goalkeeper Harald Schumacher on France defender Patrick Battiston that escaped punishment. That went down as one of the most riveting matches in World Cup history, but the rematch -- 32 years on -- couldnt have been more different. A turgid first half was illuminated by the goal from Hummels, who held off Raphael Varane and met a typically dead-eye delivery from Toni Kroos with a header that gave goalkeeper Hugo Lloris no chance. The warm and humid conditions played a part in the slow tempo of the game but France stepped up the pressure in the second half. Benzemas late chance got French fans excited but Germany should have been 2-0 ahead by then, with Lloris saving a low shot by substitute Andre Schuerrle on a counter-attack. "We just werent efficient enough," said Valbuena, who sat, dejected, on the field after the final whistle. "Our efforts just werent enough, its incredibly disappointing." Lineups: France: Hugo Lloris; Mathieu Debuchy, Raphael Varane, Mamadou Sakho (Laurent Koscielny, 72), Patrice Evra; Paul Pogba, Yohan Cabaye (Loic Remy, 73), Blaise Matuidi; Mathieu Valbuena (Olivier Giroud, 85), Antoine Griezmann, Karim Benzema. Germany: Manuel Neuer; Philipp Lahm, Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng, Benedikt Hoewedes; Sami Khedira, Bastian Schweinsteiger; Mesut Ozil (Mario Goetze, 83), Toni Kroos (Christophe Kramer, 90), Thomas Mueller; Miroslav Klose (Andre Schuerrle, 69).
